Copper Vacancies and Inclusions in Optical Float Zone Refined Cuprous Oxide
Cuprous oxide is ideal for studying Wannier-Mott excitons which have anomalously long lifetimes in this material. However copper vacancies and oxygen inclusions interfere with exciton propagation. We measured the vacancy luminescence spectra and inclusions in cuprous oxide in order to relate them to floating zone refinement parameters.
